The University-Specific GWA Calculator

Different Philippine schools have different grading scales, but the math formula remains exactly the same. We optimized this tool to act specifically as a:

UP GWA Calculator: Uses the 1.0 to 5.0 scale. To graduate Cum Laude at UP Diliman, you need a GWA of 1.75 or better (lower number is better).
DLSU CGPA Calculator: De La Salle University uses a 4.0 to 0.0 scale. A 4.0 is excellent. You need a cumulative GPA of at least 3.400 for Honorable Mention.
UST GWA Computation & PUP Grading System: Similar to UP, utilizing the 1.0 to 5.0 scale where 1.0 is an absolute 96-100% equivalent.

To calculate your GWA, multiply your grade in each subject by its number of units, add all the results together, and divide that total by your total number of units for the semester. Itâ€™s basically a weighted average grade calculator. A 5-unit Math class will pull your GWA up (or down!) much faster than a 2-unit PE class.

Can I use this as a cumulative GWA calculator?

Yes! If you want to compute your overall standing across multiple semesters, do not input individual subjects. Instead, input your final GWA from previous semesters in the "Grade" column, and your total units for those semesters in the "Units" column.

Is there a GWA to Percentage Calculator?

The conversion depends entirely on your specific school's handbook. Generally, a 1.0 is 96-100%, 1.5 is 90-95%, and 3.0 is exactly 75% (passing). If your school uses percentage grades (e.g., 88, 92), you can simply select the "Percentage Scale" on our tool and compute your average normally.
