How to Compute Your GWA for DOST

Maintaining a scholarship with the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) requires consistent monitoring of your General Weighted Average (GWA). Under DOST-SEI guidelines, scholars must keep a minimum GWA per term.

Exclusions to Keep in Mind

When calculating GWA for your scholarship standing, do not include non-academic subjects on your list. Physical Education (PE) and National Service Training Program (NSTP) checked courses must be excluded from calculations.

Calculations Step-by-Step

Exclude non-academic credits (PE, NSTP).
Multiply each academic grade by its corresponding unit value.
