How to Calculate GWA at University of the East (UE)
Calculating your General Weighted Average (GWA) at UE is essential for tracking your academic progress and eligibility for honors. Like most Philippine State Universities, UE uses an inverted 1.0 to 5.0 grading scale.
The UE Grading Scale
| Grade | Description | Percentage |
|---|---|---|
| 1.00 | Excellent | 98-100 |
| 1.25 | Superior | 95-97 |
| 1.50 | Very Good | 92-94 |
| 2.00 | Good | 86-88 |
| 3.00 | Passing | 75 |
| 5.00 | Failure | Below 75 |
Honors and Latin Honor Requirements
To graduate with honors at UE, you must maintain a consistent cumulative GWA throughout your stay. Summa (1.0-1.25), Magna (1.26-1.50), Cum Laude (1.51-1.75). Note that in many cases, failing a single subject or getting a disciplinary record may disqualify you from these honors regardless of your final average.
Why Use the UE GWA Calculator?
Our tool is specifically designed for UE students. It eliminates manual errors, handles unit weighting automatically, and even features a "Magic Paste" function that lets you copy your grades directly from your student portal to see your results instantly.
