1. Overview of DepEd Grading System
Under the Department of Education (DepEd) K-12 grading system in the Philippines, the grades reported on a student's card are not the raw scores or percentages earned in class. Instead, they go through a process called "transmutation". The transmutation table maps initial grades (calculated from tests, written work, and performance tasks) to final card grades starting at a passing mark of 75.
