The PUP 80% Residency Requirement
Under Section 16 of the PUP Student Handbook, transfer students from other colleges or universities must complete at least 80% of the total curriculum units in PUP to be eligible for academic graduation honors (Summa Cum Laude, Magna Cum Laude, Cum Laude).
PUP Latin Honors GWA Cutoffs
- Summa Cum Laude: 1.0000 to 1.2000 (No grade below 1.50 in any subject)
- Magna Cum Laude: 1.2001 to 1.4500 (No grade below 1.75 in any subject)
- Cum Laude: 1.4501 to 1.7500 (No grade below 2.00 in any subject)
Additional Disqualification Conditions
- Failing or Incomplete Marks: Any grade of 5.00, Incomplete (INC) that lapsed into 5.00, or Withdrawn (W) without official dropping immediately forfeits Latin honors.
- Regular Semestral Load: Must have carried a full semestral load as prescribed by the curriculum.
